Bought a replacement zipper that runs in the track across the top of the arch and having a bear of a time getting the new one to easily slide all the way across.

Tried Chap Stick, WD40 and liquid dish detergent with no success just killing my hands and fingers trying to pull it through the track. Next attempt will be to put the new zipper in boiling water and pull using pliers??

Anyone have a better suggestion?

Sometimes there are small set screws in the track...possibility. Also the welt that slides in the track commonly comes in 7.5mm and 8.5 mm......did you get the big welt and have small track?

Sea Ray typically uses the smaller track and if you have the thicker keder welt it would be tough to install like you are describing. Where did you buy them? If they came from Great Lakes Boat top they should be a good fit and I would focus on the track. If you had them made up locally then I would look at the welt as I have been told the smaller one that Sea Ray uses does not seem to be the standard on other boats.

Update: so I removed and replaced all the screws in the track and the zipper slid through fine. All the screws were catching or at least most of them.

Where did you buy that replacement zipper?
Thanks!

Where did you get the screws? From what I was seeing, the heads where one size down from the threads - not your standard hardware screw.
