So Im still tring to figure out why I cant get her to run. I just noticed that the distributor has what looks like a vacuum port. The carb that came on the boat when I got it did not have one. The port on the distributor is not plugged. I just got a replacement rebuild carb and still cant get her to run right. The new carb does have a vacuum port at the base (currently capped). I know this is a broad question but could this have anything to do with my super-rich condition? Ive tried everything else known to man. The float level is correct, both metering screws were bottomed out (gently) then backed out 1 1/2 turns. Choke is right. Idle is right. New plugs. Yes all plug wires are on the right plug. Im so frustrated right now. All I get when I start her up is a really rough idle and lots of black smoke.
