The vac flush on our new '08 330DA has stopped working twice in the past two days.

The unit is not creating a vac. On both occasions it is possible that the head was flushed when the HEAD switch was in the off position in the panel. Wondering if this may cause the unit to lock out?

I also recall reading something in the manual about a sensor to prevent overflowing of the holding tank. Was wondering with 1/2 a load if the sensor is getting a false reading with all the sloshing around that must occur when under way. Could this cause a problem as well.

When do most boaters pump out the holding tank. My sales rep said at 3/4 full, but the guage is still reading EMPTY, so I assume that this will become more a visual thing.

Thanks for any advice.

My guage reads Empty until its half full. So yours might have the same setup if there is a guage on the control panel inside the cabin. I try not to let it get half full if i can help it. You certainly dont need to wait until its 3/4 full to empty it. If the "Head System" switch is on inside the panel, you might want to have the dealer take a look at it for you. Theother thing you might want to be aware of is the toilet isnt clogged is it? I have 2 young girls and they are notorious for using too MUCH toilet paper which has once or twice clogged the system. You may want to invest in a small plunger just in case. Hope this helps

Like Mike, we keep a small plunger in the sink cabinet. I suspect your HEAD switch on the 12v panel was turned off. Happened often on our boat as the head is used before I have a chance to go down and turn it on. Now I just leave the 12v items turned ON at the panel and use the battery switches to turn everything on and off.

Thanks guys- I appreciate the help. It appears as though we may have a loose connection at the vac unit. I "banged" on the unit a bit and it kicked in. Then it quit again late yesterday. Tried to tap on it again, with no luck this time.

I will grab a small plunger as well.

Thanks!

Our two boys (11 and 8) have a hard time understanding what "use a little toilet paper" means.

some times my vac flush will get cloged i just put long object strait down and vac kicks in and flushes..

Never had a problem with it except for the one time the #$%^#$%^ air conditioning guy @$@#-ed up the system when we were not around.

I have a beating saved up around here somewhere for a cruiseair repairman that needs to be delivered if they guy ever is man enough to claim it.

Best regards,
Frank

One time something similar happened to me, The head was flushed with the switch off, In my case I think what happened was some paper (or something) got stuck in the duck bills and then it could not develop enough vacuum when I did turn it on. The vac pump would just keep running. There was water in the bowl so it was not leaking from that end. I filled the bowl with water, flushed to fill the line with water, let it sit over night and luckily when I turned it back on it ran for a little bit and shut off. It has been fine ever since. I do carry spare duck bills now though.

I used to have a TV that I had to do that to...

Hi All-

The tech just called and found a loose connection on the vac motor. Took less than 2 minutes to fix the issue.

Thanks for the input today- always learn something from the questiions.

He worked for the CruiseAir dealer, so probably was not a real AC guy -- just a unit swapper. Does that help? Must be my rotten luck that the A/C guys I run into are sub-par. Or maybe it's a jersey thing. Who knows?

Best regards,
Frank

Well at least it's under warranty otherwise that loose connection may have cost $100 bucks
