I have been asked to help a friend sell some surplus electronics. So here is the story: the owner is a car dealer who is into his first big boat, a 1997 450DA. The boat from the factory with the Furuno/Raytheon package. He is a pilot and has always had Garmin equipment in his planes, so he wanted everything on the boat replaced with Garmin electronics. Some $20K later, the following gear is for sale:

This is a Raytheon RAY201 VHF with Mic. The mounting bezel is aluminum and has some paint bubbling and needs to be repainted and the mic is faded where it sat in the holder; mic holder/clip is not available. This would make a good radio for a dinghy or perhaps a back-up. There is no antenna with it. It was working when removed. Owner is asking $75, OBO.

This is an RP-110 Furuno commercial grade chart plotter. It is designed to work with Furuno CRT radar units and the radar will toggle between the chart plot and the radar image so you have only one screen. The RP-110 will interface with autopilots via NMEA 0183. The plotter requires a Navionics chart card for your area of navigation. The owner is asking $200, OBO.

This is a Furuno commercial model 1932 CRT radar unit with a 48" open array. The cabling is with it; just not in the photos. The head unit has a 10" diagonal CRT display and there is a little surface corrosion on the front edge of the aluminum case, so it will need to be repainted. The owner is asking $900, OBO.

NOTE: I ran this boat just before the electronics were removed and everything worked at that time. This stuff is too good to throw away and will make someone a great addition. I have the same plotter and a little larger radar and love them. If you have always wanted a plotter and radar this is a chance to pick up very good equipment for a fraction of the cost of new equipment. Seller will accept Paypal or checks and will ship the equipment after funds clear his bank.

Nice stuff at good prices....so surprising that your friend bought a '97 450DA!

A funny/small world story here........the boat owner is a passing acquaintance but is the best friend of a guy I used to work with. They asked me to go look at the boat down in Chattanooga and help with an engine problem. When I saw the boat it looked familiar. I didn't say anything, but got the HIN# and later got a friend at Sea Ray to run down the history. Turns out it was a 450 that was sold in new Chattanooga and was the first one we looked at when we decided to move up. I eventually bought a cleaner boat with less use and lower time in Florida, but my dealer in Panama City brokered this 450 to someone else in Florida and I took several trips with him and this boat. Now, 15 years later, it turns up back in Chattanooga......and I still have the nicer boat!

The owner just needs to move the electronics........it is stored in his hangar taking up space and would make a great package for an older boat someone is going to keep but doesn't want to spend big $ on electronics.

Frank,
Are these the electronics that we discussed previously?

Thanks

Just a quick note. I just removed a Raytheon R10xx system from my 96, 370DA with CRT display and done. I put it on eBay thinking I might get a couple hundred bucks for it if I was lucky.. This was a fully operational system and had been sent to a technician last year to give it the "once over".
I was blown away when it went for $535.00. There were a lot of people bidding on it as well. So it might be worth a shot at that avenue!!

It isn't mine or I would have gotten it sold long ago........seller replaced all the electronics with Garmin because he is a pilot and is used to it. He is a car dealer, now shopping for a King-Air and doesn't want to spend the time or money to advertise it. I think he'll take just about any offer now.
