Hello, new member here.

I'm looking for a 27' bowrider for Lake of the Ozarks. The 270 SLX looks great, maybe around a 2014 model. I understand that engine size and hours are key points in pricing. Any other major price drivers? Also, I know that supply is low and probably will be into next summer, but how does pricing work on used boats. I know new boat MSRP is generally discounted 15-20% through negotiation, but not sure how this works on used, and if NADA values are reliable or not.

Thanks!

The biggest price driver is overall condition. Hours of use may not be a good indication of the engine and overall systems health.

A more powerful engine may or may not be what you want. If you don’t run with a maximum load or want to go as fast as possible burning as much fuel then the smaller standard propulsion will work just fine.

Find a boat you like which suits your needs then have a survey from a good marine surveyor before purchase.

Take you time and do not be afraid to travel, I found my boat in Atlanta and brought it back to WV. Survey is a must have!!! Make sure your engine survey includes not only a compression check but a leak down test. Good luck with your search...
