I checked their website today and found their online renewal fee is $75.00 /year .
I mailed in a check weeks ago (during the shutdown) for $26.00 with the renewal paperwork as requested in the form received from them. As of today they have not cashed my check so I searched online to see how backed up they were and found this by accident .

    ......................................................
    $104.00

tiara in the snow 01.JPG One could make a good argument that the lien holders should pay these fees since they are the principal beneficiaries of documentation. So what used to be a free "service" now costs $26. This is why government must be reined in.

Correct. There are "services" out there to try to take $$ from you. M

Yes, they will take your $75.00 and pay your $26.00 fee for you. Sounds good to me - not! since they are providing a service is keeps it just on this side of legal.

I guess some people have no moral compass. I don't mind paying for a service but this is an outright scam.

The problem with this idea is that lien holders would just roll in $100 charges for the $26 fee.

I mailed mine in early November. Did it online via CC and received updated one year documentation 2 weeks later.

Lienholders are also the principal beneficiary of insurance but I wouldn’t think one would suggest the lender should pay the insurance premium?

Personally, I document my boats even without leins because I like getting away from having to ruin the look with state registration numbers tattooed on both sides of the bow.....

We have to have the state registration stickers on the side even if we to document. Missouri needs their $100 every few years.

Oh trust me in Florida and Michigan I have to pay for state registration also, I just don’t have to display the registration numbers on both sides of my bow. Just the state registration sticker which is pretty discreet.

I went on the website the earlier post indicated and on the fee schedule I did not see multi year options, only $26 for a year. What am I missing?

Every year I get a letter from a very helpful company offering their services. For a reasonable $49 fee they will do for me what usually takes me an incredible 3 minutes to do..
