I am running 3 Optima blue tops, (2 house and 1 starting) and wanting to add one more. (3 house and 1 starting) My reasoning is that i want to add some more speakers and an additional amp to my boat. I have been told that the factory Alternator will have trouble charging 4 batteries. Is this true? If so does anyone know where i can get a bigger alternator that would fit my boats motor application?

Depends on the size of the house alternator and how your batteries are wired. If you use a 1-2-3-off switch and it's pointed to one battery, then it doesn't really matter since it will only charge the battery indicated by the switch. If you have a system that charges all from the available power, then it will charge the starting battery first and then switch the available alternator amps to the other batteries. If you need to charge up 3 from 50% discharge, that's a LOT of alternator time. Do you know what your current alternator puts out?
