please tell me what kind of attitude do i have, some guy calls me a douche bag, another says i have a attitude, another says i'm a fat lazy @ss, and another says i helped him with his career, are you all trying to defend some guy who is angry because he owns a business and has to work weekends instead of boating like me. now thats funny

Your forgot "semi-literate." Your posts have to be the most badly written drivel that I've seen this side of a grammar school for retar... mentally challenged citizens.

:smt089 You get what you give. :smt089

He "HAS" to get working- like many of us- because we work our asses off to try to maintain a business (even in this **** economy) to support our families and PROVIDE JOBS for aholes like you that feel they're still owed a damn paycheck when they're laid off due to lack of work and sitting around in a union hall playing cards.

Post Scriptum:

Sorry guys- I know it's one hell of a run-on sentence...that's what happens when I get fired up...

I didn't call you a fat lazy @ss, I said "I don’t hate union workers, just the GREEDY lazy fat @ss ones who want to share the wealth with out working for it."

Are you a GREEDY lazy fat @ss who want to share the wealth with out working for it?

i bet 1/2 the union bashers on this forum are company owners and they want to fill there pockets like the rest of corporate america,

So... this ass clown posts his first post here in this thread and bashes a bunch of people and says "what's the problem?" Take your sentence above and substitute " the motivated people" for "corporate america"... i.e.:

i bet 1/2 the union bashers on this forum are company owners and they want to fill there pockets like the rest of the movtivated people

Let's see... I delivered paychecks last Friday because I have been working and helping a bunch of people stay employed.. screw it.. I'm going to sit on my butt and demand someone "share their wealth". I keep my boat either way...

How come all unions/governments are exempt from direct pay cuts?
Because we allow it! Many, MANY, union employees have no idea what it is like to have to "perform" well in their assigned task's in order to receive compensation. They only know that they will receive "X" amount due to them on a certain date regardless of job performance. What a shame!

Way too many quotes to add to my post, so I will just wing it.

As a business owner for over 35+ years and having been forced to go Union for a period of time I think I can speak for both sides.

As many have stated Unions have had and sometimes still are a great thing.

But.... in my line of work, No One and I repeat NO ONE is going to dictate to me how much I have to pay an employee!!!!

If I employ 20 people and they cannot produce enough to make me, myself and my company a profit, I should have the option to reduce their pay to the point that they do. Otherwise I should be able to terminate them!

If not, then I will have to close my business and therefore add 20 + employees to the unemployed.
Which I did 20 years ago.
Guess what??
The unions came in and wanted to audit my books for the previous 18+ years.
Thankfully all was in order.
Then the employees started filing grievances.
Another 3 years.

I take offense in some of your comments.
You are collecting 2 if not 3 paychecks.
Just saw a recent post referring to military used vehicles.
Though I applaud your military service, I am very familiar with Delta Airlines.

You guys have the best in the industry.
Yes there have been pay-cuts and draw downs, but you have a GUARANTEED JOB!

Us on the street do not.

Got to posts on Great Lakes regarding the Chicago Boat Show

$65.00+ for a case of pop to your booth
$800 to rent a refrigerator
Great to be a Union Member here.
Just lost another 2-3 major conventions here.

Give me an honest 8 hours work and I will pay you for 8 hours work.
Make me a profitable business man and I will reward you.
If you are Union I cannot do that.

THAT GENTELMAN AND WOMEN IS WHAT IS WRONG WITH TODAY, TOMORROW AND SOCIALISIM

I'm sorry you feel that way. I could not afford to live at a middle class standard of living and work for Delta Air Lines. I left 4 years ago and have been in the military full time.

During that time, I have invested thousands of hours in the used car/repair business. I have invested hundreds of thousands of my after-tax dollars - cash. I don't get a pay check. My employees do. We are not paying down the mortgages in this economy. My partner has dumped another $6,500 of his military pay check this month into the business to try to get things going. Our employees continue to get paid. Someday, if the economy recovers, we may begin to make money. In the mean time we do repairs for free for needy families on weekends (church people). Our empoyees get paid for that. We take a loss for everything else.

The property could make a worthwhile investment some day, but they're both within a mile of Arizona Chemical. That place would have to close. Could happen, some day.

So, I work 3 jobs, get one pay check (from the military) and continue to dump cash into businesses which are competing with Obama. My wife works full time. We do ok. Things are not always what they seem.

Allow me to do the job of the union teacher, which will probably get me beaten up b/c I'm a scab...

I new i would find 1 greedy ceo
improper homonym
lets remember something here
first word of a sentence is capitalized - use an apostrophe when using contractions
hard working american
proper nouns are always capitalized

One conceptual correction: It was the strangle-hold that the unions put on US automakers that contributed to the demise of our auto industry and which gave The State the opportunity to take over. Paying people $80 an hour to sit in a room for 8 hours and do NOTHING is not my idea of helping. By the same token, the concessions that the unions have recently made (VERY begrudgingly) may just save GM, but likely not Chrysler.

I'll get together for a beer, but don't be surprised if I drive the coversation to hot chicks in bikinis. Why waste a perfectly good beer?

Anytime, do I have to drink domestic beer?

Ok, Sounds like an invite to Panama City. Sounds good. Are there really still hot chicks in bikinis down there this time of year?

(this is a lot more fun topic)

My wake up call came about 25 years ago. I was working as a Union Pipe Fitter running crews at EPCOT. I had a situation as a foreman in that a ditch was filling up with ground water impeding our progress laying underground pipe. I jumped in MY truck, went to an equipment rental store and rented a ditch pump with a 3" suction. I got back to the job and started pumping water out. Suddenly a guy from the Operating Engineers Union showed up and said he was filing a grievance with my BA because if I needed a ditch pump with larger than a 2 1/2" suction I had to use one of their guys to operate it. I disconnected the pump, through it in the truck, went back to the rental store. I returned with 2: 2 1/2" suction pumps and went back to work. That afternoon I went to leave the job and all the windows were smashed out of my truck and 'RAT" was painted all over the sides with spray paint.

The next week, I dropped my union book, and registered to take the State Contractors exam which I passed. I later incorporated my business and the rest is history.
