I saw that story earlier today. It's tragic, unexpected.

Wow- we're anchored just off Marathon right now. We've been running around all day in the Zodiac playing with the tube and snorkeling. What's with all these strange accidents with rays? They're beautiful animals that, until recently, posed little to no threat to humans at all.
I think they are aliens testing our defenses. Did you see this story?
