Underwater Lights

Why all the secrecy on what the other lights are? If you did a fair test the info should be reliable...what's the big deal?

Yeah come on, inquiring minds want to know. Don't leave us hanging.

Looks Great Blue Ray, is been on my mod list to two seasons now. and I even have them in the garage I just have to get to it.

Just installed plug light. Bought the Gatlin model. Little expensive, but love the way it lights the water.

I've got a slightly used Gatlin plug light if anyone is interested. It's blue and very bright. My buddy sold his boat but kept the light. $140 shipped.

Oh and btw it compares very well with the Seablaze X. The X might be just a smidge brighter but not by much.

Looking to replace
my 04 280 cockpit and radar arch bulbs with LED's. Where and what ones should I get? I want blue. Also looking at drain plug underwater lights. Do they all screw rt in factory location and how are you wiring these?

The plug light has a 6'-8' cord that feeds through the drain plug hole. The light screws into the hole and replaces your drain plug. There is a small transformer that the light connects to. This would need to be located somewhere in the bilge. You would have to run wiring from the transformer to the switch at the helm. I had a factory auxiliary switch that was not being used so I used that to switch the light on and off.

How did you wire it and where do you turn it on from?

Thanks,

Kevin

Just to interject since I have installed the same drain plug lights. I had installed 4 underwater transom lights the year prior so I had the luxury of tapping into the existing power feed. The transom light power feed was run all the way to the helm and added to a rocker switch. In my case I used the "spotlight" switch since my bow spotlight had been removed some years prior. If that doesn't work you can always add it to an accessory switch if available. If not, adding a new toggle switch is a piece of cake.

Hope that helps.

I recently installed these lights and bought them through Amazon: (My housings were old and nasty looking)
http://www.amazon.com/Lumitec-Color...e=UTF8&qid=1458997318&sr=8-5&keywords=lumitec

The typical radar arch light would require you to purchase the retrofit bracket.

The installation takes minutes and they look/work great. YES, pricey but they are an outstanding light. The ones I purchased were only 3 color...red, white, blue with the white being dim-able. I ended up replacing ALL of my cockpit lights (4) plus the radar arch and it makes a huge difference.

The other option is to simply replace the bulbs if the actual light housings are ok. I use these 2 websites depending on what I need:
http://shop.ledwholesalers.com/index.php?act=viewProd&productId=687
https://www.superbrightleds.com/cat/boat-rv-bulbs/

Many times I find exactly what I need at these sites then in some cases buy them through Amazon as a Prime member for less or faster ship times.

Hope that helps.

Those look cool. I ended up using super brite led for blue bulbs. Eventually maybe I'll get those too as my outer Chrome housing are a little worn but gives character.

Has anyone installed the Seablaze X lights on a '04 340 suncdancer, using (3), or (4) lights? and have an opinion on how many to install. Any pics or vid would be great

thx
