Typical alternator gauge chaging range

2000 Sea Ray amberjack with twin 454. I have replaced the batteries and both alternators but alternator gages show mx charging around 16 amps. This started a couple of moths ago but have not found any valid reason?

Measure directly at the batteries with a DVM - compare with gauges. Gauges aren't always super accurate.
