Two engines; what's the difference?

Wreckless, I purchased a new Rinker 180 in 1995 and it came with a 4.3lx Gen+ motor. From what I remember, the Gen+ motor had GM Vortec heads and intake which gave it a little more horsepower than the previous non Gen+ motors. But, that could have just been the salespersons spin and I bought it.

If this is in regards to the 96 290 you posted about, ask for the engine serial numbers and get the specs for HP etc. I looked at several 96 290's with twin 4.3's and really liked the performance and they weren't too hard to maneuver around in the engine room. In retrospec I would have purchased if I could have found one in pristine condition.

Cocktail Time hello .. thank you for that information. It is very useful and interesting about the engines too. WrecklessUK (Penny)
