I have decided to make the cavity into what I am calling a media station. It will have a wood magazine/chart rack and a wood electronic device charging station. I will utilize the outlet in there for the charging station. Perfect I think.

I mounted an ice maker on mine after removing the 17" TV. AC receptacle already there. Makes it easy to drain the residual water from the ice maker directly in the sink because of the swivel mount. I bought a 40lb/24hr one from Amazon. PM me for pictures.

I kept the swivel shelf and did this:
