Our 2002 310 S.R. has a 13" TV/ VCR OEM that i think is outdated
with the recent change from analog to digital

Will any newer T.V./ DVD 13 " T.V be ok ???

FROM RADIO SHACK ETC???? :smt001

If you have a cable or satellite connection at your marina you do not have to change out the TV. If you don't have either, a converter box will convert the digital signal from your antenna to analog which will work with your TV. The third alternative is to replace the TV/VCR. For this option, you will have to find someone on the forum with the same vintage 310 or TV/VCR as yours.

For the converter option check the thread below.

Thanks Bob...i'm sure they will have it, i'm not sure though, this will be my first year 2010 at lindenhurst, I did see the cable box on the opposite side of the cabin across from where the T.V.is, I'm.not sure how it would connect...i'm wondering if the T.V works while out in the water?? we have no generator....

We have no VCR tapes anymore, but loads of DVD 's
so the VCR to us is obsolete

Thanks Bob...i'll check it out...

hey, bill i have read that a simple converter box(target, etc, about $30) does the trick and it fits velcro'd behind your tv i have a similar problem and cant wait to try it out in the spring let me know which way you choose joe

Thanks Joe....Were thinking of new.only because of the DVD's

but we may change our minds down the line..

Bill,
If you want to replace it, find out if it is DC (12V) or AC (120V). If DC you will pay more and have fewer models to choose from but not much if any rewiring. If you want to be able to watch it away from the slip with no generator DC is your best choice. Next is what will fit in the space. I checked the Sea Ray brochure for your year and model and what I saw was a non-flat panel TV. I am not sure if you will find a new TV/DVD player that will exactly fit in the opening. The best thing is find someone with a 2002 310 that has replaced the factory TV/VCR with a digital one that also has a DVD player.

I want to put a new TV in a 2002 320 where the newer models have it adjacent to the steps. Does anyone know if the TV surround that sea Ray uses is available or would I have to custom make something for this?

Not sure but thats a great idea....

2k, I want to also install a tv on the bulkhead. I know sea ray has been installing 26" flat screens there and looks relatively easy to mount a regular tv on the wall im just worried about running the wiring, like some ideas p.s. i bought a 15" flat tv/dvd and put it on the wall in the aft cabin for the kids i purchased it on line and bought the mount there also ,the only thing is it is 110v a/c only so i have to run the gen when not at the dock but its a great fit for that area

I need to look at a wiring diagram but figure most all wiring runs behind the dash before being distributed around the boat. At least I am hoping. If not I need to figure out how to get from here to there with the cable which can be as easy as running another line from the radar tower down.

I installed a 23” LCD with DVD player in the area to the left of the steps going out of the cabin. Works great in that location, I ran the wire from the TV antenna amp (that was and still is located under the old TV) under the V berth and fished it up to the area behind the cabinets on the starboard side, then ran it behind the cabinets to the breaker panel and then fished it out a hole that I made behind the new TV. Also ran the TV power cord thought the same hole to the breaker panel and tied it into the breaker that the old TV was hooked up too. If you open up the breaker panel make sure the boat shore power cord is unplugged and the generator is not running because there is a risk of being shocked. I will look and see if I have any pictures to post.

Im trying to imagine where you put it :) since i have the same boat...

please if you can send a picture......P.S. we have NO generator

GREAT IDEA....

For those of you trying to figure out where your wiring comes from/goes to:

There should be a section of your owner's manual dedicated to electrical wiring routes. That's not exactly what it's called, but it's something similar. In my manual, anyways, it shows the deck (pictured upside down) and the hull as two separate parts, along with where various wires and hoses are routed.

Since the wiring is done before the deck and hull are joined, you might be surprised at how wires get to a specific point. Hopefully, you'll be pleasantly surprised!

Absolutely perfect and exactly what I was looking to do! You made my life much easier when I go to do this installation that's for sure! Fantastic install, did you ever install the surround?

Here is a link http://clubsearay.com/forum/showthread.php?t=23921 to a post I made several months ago. I have included pictures, part numbers, and details on how I added mine. Good luck with your project.

No not yet as I am still considering exactly what I would like to do. Make it out of wood and stain it or cover it with the vinyl material. To be honest it looks really good without the surround. At least I have all winter to decide.
