Tube leaking.

As above, leak repair holding, added more glue, sat another day. Scrub it and clean tomorrow, launch Friday. Learned a lot in this, like its not that difficult. I could have had this fixed weeks ago if i just applied myself and a little vinyl patch glue.

good stuff. Mine is holding now after I tightened one of the valves, I think it was slightly cross threaded and leaking slowly.

You know what i really learned? Patching these things is not that difficult but if you live in the Chesapeake area you know what i gonna say. There are a bazillion inflatable boats in this area and only 2 repair shops in Annapolis and 1 in Harrisburg. Nothing in the greater Baltimore area. I really see a business opportunity. Serious , may pursue.

I have a slight leak in my bow chamber on a brand new inflatable... hoping it's this. Just bought a new valve and valve wrench.

Fire, when you unscrew the valve, there is another part that the valve screws into. You will see what i mean when the new part comes. That piece is inside the tube. Deflate the tube all the way so you can hold that internal piece in place by squeezing the vinyl tube. So it doesn’t fall in the tube and gets lost. You will understand when you start messing with it.

If its brand new, warranty? Take it back.

Brand new - no warranty. It was an Amazon return I found on FB Marketplace - $600 for a 2020 model, never unboxed dinghy! Less than half price. If this is the only issue - I'm $$$ ahead!

Fire, a brand new, unboxed, the odds of it being the valves are less than the chance you will win tickets to the next Beatles concert. Start looking for a leak.
Did you soapy squit around the valve?

Hey now, I could get lucky LOL. I figure it's just one valve for the bow section, it'll take me no time to deflate, unscrew and reassemble it. Then start looking for the leak, if it's still there.

Fire,
What’s the status?
I took a few extra days on land and squirt sealant between the rubber and wood transom. Then scrubbed all the brown water stains, it looks like new. Launch tomorrow. Cant wait, i love my little zodiac.

Headed up now. Should know more in a few hours.

We keep it on the davits and under a cover so she should stay looking new for a while.

Keep mine on a rack at marina. You’d think marina would throw in with slip cost, nope extra $150 a year, but worth it not having to haul home and back. Stays on it even in winter in case get a sunny day and feel like a ride.

Took 45 seconds to find, including spraying the valves first.

No repair kit came with it, but this seems to keeping coming up in my searches as the best one to use.

Never heard of that, but that dont mean its not good. If its a brush on it prolly work better on seams that the ‘plug a hole’ type.
On another note we took the outboard to marina, launched the fixed zodiac. Sure looks good sitting back on the rack, T storms today. Will go play tomorrow.

Just make sure you are solving PVC issues with PVC stuff, and Hypalon issues with Hypalon stuff. That coming from a 3M yellow trim adhesive guy....... ;-)
