a little background:
previous boat owner, last boat a chaparral BR. tow vehicle is a F350 diesel 4X4 crew cab.

Must have:
Trailerable, overnightable for 2, single engine with adequate power. ( I will need to tow some grandkids on a tube, and visit a high altitude lake).
desires: windlass, a/c, genset
leaning towards a dancer 260/270.
but I want to hear from experienced sea ray owners/ operators regarding my decision. I dont want to keep a boat in the water, I dont want an underpowered boat. I'd rather sacrafice on the overnight capabilities if I need to. or..........................
can I have it all?
I certainly would consider an older model if appropriate, as I know sometimes beam changes with the model year.
would like to hear your opinion of model and engine combination to look for.
Im sure Ive left something out, but I tank you in advance for sharing your experience with me.

What year is your truck?

Strictly used, or also discussing new?

The genie is going to be the tough one - they're out there, but you'll have to search harder to find a narrow beam (8'6" is generally the max allowed beam before needing permits) boat with a generator.

We overnight (sometimes 3 or 4 nights at time) with ours and we have a 9 & 6 year old. It's not exactly "roomy", but it's very doable. I also do watersports - skiing, tubing, etc - with it.

Trailerable, single engine, and pulling grandkids will pretty much limit you to 280's and smaller regardless of year.

290's are trailerable but not very efficient for pulling tubes imo.
