Hey All!

New to the thread.. I currently own a 2010 Sea Ray 185 SP and am looking to replace the horn. I was hoping for some advice or if there is a thread in the past with a tutorial on this..

A couple quick questions.. do I need to remove the seating on the front of the boat to get to the horn? If so, how do I go about doing this without damaging the interior or any clips that may be behind the seat. Also does anyone have a aftermarket horn they recommend?

Thanks you all for the help and advice, looking forward to many more posts on this forum.

I am not familiar with the horn on your model of boat. Typically the horn slides out and you need access to it. My boats have always been through the anchor locker. Make sure you also replace the screen cover. I spray the cover with 303 to help protect the fabric screen from falling apart.

Thanks for the reply Skolbe.. When I get home from work I will snap some photos when I get home to show you what im looking at.

Remove the cover. Then remove the horn. Both come off from the topside. That's about all there is to it.

Two screws...remove them, pull the horn straight up, unplug old horn assembly, plug new horn assembly in, put back in the hole, screw back down. 5 min job, all done from the "outside" if the boat.

Yes definitely! I feel much more confident in being able to get her running after a long afternoon of listening to music while swimming.
