Sad thing is none of that applies to Trump himself, just his organizations.
Sorry Mike, but what's the sad part? This was a frivolous case brought by vindictive prosecutors. I've got 26 years experience as a CFO. I've even had employees convicted of tax fraud on their personal taxes with regard to under reporting fringe benefits. Never once was the company looked at as committing tax fraud. The company had no insight into the employee's personal taxes, nor should they.

I have to hand it to the Bolsheviks

They REALLY got him this time

You thought those last 300 failed attempts were close? This time it's for real. Forget the orange skin. He's gonna be in a full orange jumpsuit doing
The perp walk on national TV. The whole house of cards is coming down. It's go time!

Back to reality: Avennatti just got 14 more years o_O

The fact that Weisselberg held a high 'managerial' position is how they tied the company to his tax fraud. If the company benefits were a 'side effect' and not intended goal of Weisselberg I'd think Trump has a chance if he appeals.

I miss Honda generator threads

That will happen in the spring! For those of us that winter store, it's time for the can-i-run-a-spaceheater-in-the-bilge threads.

Or .... the how-much-is-my-slip-increase threads

BTW: up $10/foot and they are hitting us with flat rate electric

For the first time in 4 years my storage rate for next year didn't go up....Probably because it is the most expensive storage on the lake.

Highslice, If what you say is true, there would not have been any convictions. The prosecutors may have been vindictive but like the old saying goes:
Where there's smoke there is fire.

You and I may have to agree to disagree on what I'm about to say but I truly believe Trump is doing more harm to the GOP than good. If he was smart he'd just keep his mouth shut and fade quietly into the background. His ego and narcissist personality won't let him do that though.

I completely disagree. The democrats are a lost cause…. So no need to explain them. The republicans are lost, self centered and just as greedy…. Trump comes along and blows the whole thing up which causes both sides to go into defense mode. Trump did right by the country and foreign policy. I don’t think you can argue that…. What has everyone wound up is his side antics…. Who cares…. Media loves it, dems love it…. Let them lose their mind. If you have someone else …. Let’s hear it…. and it’s not desantis…. He is no different then the established republicans

I agree Trump did right by the country when he was in office. He lost and has been crying about it ever since. I don't have a candidate but DeSantis seems to be the lead candidate at this point.

I agree that Trump's presidency brought great success. The not so unbiased media hated him because he didn't conform and wouldn't play ball. The dems were panicked because they were afraid he'd end them feeding at the trough. So the dems and the media were already in bed so they teamed up to get him out at all costs. They were successful with a combination of "cheats" in key areas, censorship and interference from the FBI.

That said, Trump has become so polarizing that I believe his presence may be detrimental to the GOP's efforts in 2024.
I listened to a 30 minute interview yesterday with the Sherriff of Lee county Florida and a St. Louis native who has 2 restaurants on Sanibel. They have both spent a lot of time with DeSantis post Ian until present. They painted a completely different picture of him. Not as the typical self absorbed greedy establishment republican who values power above anything else and trades in political capital. According to them he values accomplishment over all else.

Nah. How can an employer be responsible for the tax return of it's employee? They gave the exectutives perqs that where required to be reported. The execs failed to do so. How is that Trump's fault? Interestingly, they didn't go after Trump for any similar shenanigans. Would be pretty easy to do if there was any evidence.

As far as the GOP, they are their own worst enemy. They all suck. They can't articulate a policy. Can't support the candidates chosen by their voters, Trump endorsed or not. And now they run the fundraising scam using Hershal Walker. Trump has nothing to do with any of that. Don't you think if just one of the them was able to clearly articulate "America First" type policies they would clean up. They would be Trump without the baggage. Yet they can't do it, because they don't believe it. They are out to screw the little guy, just like the Dems.

Go, no offense, but have you not been paying attention the last 6 years? Liberal prosecutors and judges use any means to punish Trump, legal or not. But in the end I don't really care enough to argue about it. It is an almost unprecedented prosecution from my understanding.

@highslice …I walked downtown Michigan for a couple drinks and an appetizer… so can’t really have a coherent conversation….I agree with what you are saying……. only you used lots of words :).
I'll use less next time. I just haven't started drinking yet...
