Trip coming up

Next week will be the big trip. We will be leaving Thursday afternoon and headed from the Gunpowder to the C&D cannel for a stop over at Summit North Marina. Friday morning we will be headed to Cape May New Jersey with the out going tide on the Delaware Bay. We will spend two nights there, and Sunday morning we will head out into the ocean for the ride up to the Hudson and New York.

I am so looking forward to this and with this being our fifth season with a boat and never having left the Chesapeake Bay, this should be really exciting.

Looks like a really great trip Bill. How many of the group do you have going with you? How long do you figure that it will take you all to make it from Cape May up to New York? Anyway, have a really great trip and I hope that the weather stays nice for the entire trip.

Best wishes Bill!!! Looks awesome! Since you will be in Cape May for two days you can follow the sight seeing boats out for their sunset/dolphin watching cruise. It's a big 100' pink boat and the Blue Sightseer with a sea horse on the front. You can just hang around them and you are sure to see dolphins. They head out of the rock pile, bob around for a bit, then the pink boat heads south to the point around the concrete ship (another cool site) to watch the sunset over the water then cruises back through the canal. It is well worth the effort, just watch the ferries leaving at the mouth of the canal on the Delaware Bay side, they don't stop, period.

Bill, sound like a great trip. Be very carefull in NYC area. Here's how my first trip to the Hudson ended up.

Hit a huge log – what would you do?

Keep extra pair of eyes on the water in the area. You just never know when the logs popup.
