I got the smarts tabs from Nauticus and decided to install on my boat, but I keep my boat in the dry stack storage, and the fork lift operator tells me that the tabs will hang below the bottom of the boat and the fork lift it tear it off the boat when they handle the boat.

Anyone had similar problems? any solutions ?

Call John at Nauticus: 800-233-0194, He will help you with this problem.

I'd recommend a different driver! I don't have any experience with it, but I'm sure people are NOT pulling them off when they go to a rack storage either. I know a lot of boats get dropped into the water over in Anacortes using a forklift too. It's probably best if they are fully retracted, but I don't know why it would be an issue. The driver can't snug up to the transom with the lift due to the swim step and outdrive being in the way and that would keep him from smashing the tabs. If they retract above the bottom of the boat the forks shouldn't hit them anyway, so I don't know what he's complaining about?

Smart Tabs don't retract when not moving, they stay fully deployed, so if there is carpet on the forks I could where damage could occur. I believe that John has some different upper mounts that will allow you to flip the tabs up so they will be clear. I know he has a bracket for the stainless tabs, not sure about the new SX tab.
