i can hear the trim tab motor running when i push the buttons but they don't move, any ideas?

and....

i have an onboard heater/window defogger, it's blowing cold air. i'm told there is a valve that needs to be turned to blow hot, but i can't find it anywhere.....

did you check to see if there is fluid in the trim tab pump?

Also, keep in mind in many tabs the movement is subtle. You should still be able to see movement, but just checking to make sure your case is "no movement at all" vs. "very little movement."

If they are Bennett, check their web site for troubleshooting and also call them next week if needed. They are known for very good customer service.

Hey Steve,

I read in another post that you have a 1995 290 sundancer, it has twin v6's.

Could you please add this to your signature? It helps us to answer your questions.

thanks Doug, it took me a while to figure out how, but i think i did it LOL

I have a 1995 300 with a factory cockpit heat/defogger option at the helm. At least on mine, the unit only heats up when the heat switch is activated AND the motors have been running and up to temp. The venting of air is coming from the bilge and if that air is cold it takes a while for the engines to heat it up. Works great on a summer night to clear fogged windshield glass but takes about 20-30 minutes running time to heat when cold out.

At least on mine there is no "valve" to worry about.

What is the heater doing or not doing? I'd be happy to try and help.
