Trim Fin Locator Please!!!

I have reported several weeks ago that my 1977 25' Sea Ray SVX240 has horrible steering. After several responses (thank you all !!!) one person mentioned the Trim Fin. Upon investigtation of the drive, I noticed it has been broken off. That's the good news. The bad news is that I can't locate the one I need for my boat. Does anyone have any links or part numbers I could use. I don't even know what type of drive I have on this boat. I know it is a OMC Stringer (or Stern Drive) but I don't know if I have the Alpha or Generation something..(can anyone tell me what I have by the photos). Any help on these items would be greatly appreciated. I have attached 2 pictures (here and one additional below in a reply to a member) of my outdrive for help....

Actually sfergson727, my unit does have the trim fin. I have provided another picture showing where the tab was located (above the prop). The fin was attached to the round plate and hung down. Additionally, the fin was sort of a concave shape with degree marks on the round plate. Hope this helps folks.

You Have an OMC 800. By your year you must have the first year of that. Before that you had a electric shift. That's what mine had and will have again. See this thread for details on my project. http://clubsearay.com/forum/showpost.php?p=171834&postcount=1

Hope this helps. You should be able to see how the water flow helps you steer right.
Now...Do you have or know anybody who has steering parts for the stringer drive?

Thanks for the help Steve. A person before your post told me that there was a trim fin on Ebay, so I jumped on it right away. So I have a OMC 800 series. Thanks for the info. I don't have any information about the parts to your boat but I can give you number to my mechanic here in Richmond, VA. He has been very knowledgeable for my boat and is one of just a handfull that will even work on OMC parts. The name of the business is Dock Side Marine (804) 752-2054 - as for Cliff the owner....

You have steering parts for one. Looking for the cable (2 cable in sheeth) and the assembly on the intermediate housing that the cable hooks to. (Shaft that goes to the drive).:huh:
 
Ski, did you get the fin you needed from ebay? I just read this post and I think I still have a used one laying around if you still need one.

My stuff is all for the 800 Stringer, and I don't have much steering stuff except for the hydraulic actuator valve for the power steering model. Thats brand new, I got it as a spare and never needed it. I have a few good used single lever side mount controls, some shift interruptor modules (v-8) a good used shift convertor box (fits on back of engine) A good used Heavy Duty Ride Guide steering cable for the rack and pinion style power steering units(i forget teh length but I can check if anybody needs one). I have a used bell housing (GM V-8) adaptor complete with exhaust flappers. I think I have a used set of motor mounts for the jack screw style v-8 engine trim units. There is also an exhaust housing for the 800 stringer and I think a top cap for the upper gear housing and the cap that holds it to the exhaust housing. I have a couple of props, both aluminum three blades. One is a new OMC 15x13 I never used, had it for spare. The other is a 15x17 used also a spare has a good hub. I think I have an empty upper gear case with steering gears. i was going to build a spare outdrive at one time but sold the boat before I ever got all the parts.
