hi newbie 280 da owner. On the dash there are trim gauges. I beleive these are for the trim tab? And not trailer trim? How do u know what position your trailer tabs are in?

Dash gauges are for the drives. If you notice, when you operate the drive trim button, the needles will move. They won't move when you operate the trim tabs.

Got it thanks. So for the trim tabs there is no indication to what position they are in? Just use as needed?

Correct. That is pretty typical on boats. There are systems that can be added to see trim tab position (even auto tab systems), but most will find that once you get used to them, your "seat-o-da-pantsometer" is the best "gauge".

There are tab "Position Indicators" but most boaters adjust the trim tabs by feel and where and how the boat is riding. It will take some practice. Pressing and holding the "Bow Up" buttons for 5-6 seconds will bring the tabs to the full up position.
