When ever it rains hard i get water in the transom....

Although i always check to keep the drain hole open, its a pain to keep drying it out after a rain...is there a rubber seal or something i can put around the top edge of the transom door near the long hinge???

I have seen people have a canvass cover made for the transom. It keeps the sun from baking your lettering as well as keeping the transom locker dry. The covered slip I have keeps it dry but spray from running the boat gets moisture inside as does washing so I keep only items I don't mind getting wet in there. Fenders, ropes, brushes and maybe some fishing gear is all that goes inside.

You could get a small (1/4") foam self-adhesive weather stripping from Menards/Home depot - but I believe these lockers are designed as "wet" or open lockers - that is why they do not come with gaskets (and have large drain holes). - Jeff

That transom locker is always wet. Makes my wife crazy. We keep lines in there, fenders, water shoes, etc. When it rains or we wash the boat, water drips in the top. When we come down off plane, water will sometimes swamp the swim platform and go in the large drain hole. I think any gasket you'd try to add would be futile, but if you come up with something successful - let me know!
