I want to add pressure and temperature senders to my HSW800IV transmissions as I service them this winter. I have the Electric Selector Valve, and I have'nt been able to find any information on which ports I can use for these purposes.

I'd like to add mechanical guages the on the transmissions in the engine room and senders for sending to my N2K network. Ttmott did it, but he had the mechanical shift... different from mine. ->http://clubsearay.com/index.php?threads/save-your-transmission-modifications.66004/

A couple issues.

1. Anybody have a flow diagram for this control valve or advice on where to add/place? Here is what mine look like.

2. Anybody know the type fittings required?

Dave, have you tried calling ZF Hurth down in Florida? Their tech support might be able to help you out.

I thought about it, but I was hoping someone had already done this and had some real world intel specific to this control valve, specific thread size, sensors that fit (both thread and depth of the sensor used).

Want to have a good plan put together to make this as easy as possible. Have several jobs to complete while changing the ATF fluid. New filters, o-rings, have to have the transmission coolers checked, and I have to get a frozen zinc head out of the starboard cooler. Thought I'd add this to the list while I'm at it.

I may just have to purchase several threaded parts and start piecing together. I was hoping to mount direct to the transmission ports, but I've seen these items mounted on external manifolds.

Sounds like a good mod. I’ve got the new filter kits and fluid for my transmissions ready to go. If I get the time, and the weather cooperates, I’ll probably do it some time this week.
Planning on coming out of the water right after Veteran’s Day and I’d like to get all the fluid and filter changes done and everything winterized, except the motors themselves, before I bring it around to the boatyard. I’ll winterize the motors once they get her blocked up.
Starting to compile my winter “to do” list for the decent winter days when I can work under the shrinkwrap.
Following your electronics diagrams to get my older Raymarine stuff to talk to my newer MFD’s is one of the first things I hope t get done.

I took John suggestion and contacted ZF Tech support. Documents spell out what port is for temp and pressure (attached) The port circled above is for a temp sender , and there should be on on top to measure shifting pressure.

Guages, sender and apaptors.

Purchased the guages, asenders and adaptors necessary to install the temp and pressure guages on the transmission control valve. These were purchased because Chetco Digital already has predefined calibration tables for the sender units making getting the data onto the NEMA2K network plug and play (hopefully). Parts are as follows, 2 each required.

Looking at another option for the transmission ATF temperature sender location as the sender installed in the fitting adaptor will not have the senders probe tip in the oil stream, meaning I'll likely be reading the transmission case temp and have much slower response.

I was researching and Seaboard Marine (sbmar.com) had a couple articles about where to measure Hurth transmission pressure and temp, and I came up with this solution picture below. The tip on the sender is in the oil flow, and I expect will give good readings.

My only concern is the vibration on these fittings. Any concerns?? These are quality fittings.

I thought this is a better setup

My version...

Installed T's in both ports of the transmission cooler. Temp sender on the inlet, Pressure sender on the outlet. I'll have to install on the engine and determine if it all fits.
