Hello fellow Searay owners. I am Jeff from "The Lili Pad". Like may of you I live for cruisin the Chesapeake Bay but, maybe not this weekend. When I shift into gear on my starboard side the transmission does not respond forward or reverse. 3126 cats. I have a call in for service but do not think they will get to me this week. I think it is an electrical malfunction and should be an easy fix. I plan to study the manuals for help but I am no mechanic but a little bit handy.
Please, any one with advise I would like to hear from. Respond to the club or direct to jmckin1836@comcast.net.
Many thanks and best of times for all.

check your voltage on that motor. If your shifting at the trans is done by solenoids you can check at the solenoids if one side has 12 volts when shifting into gear. It needs i think over 10-11 volts if I remember. If you don't have anything check at the handles. there will be activation switches where the cables would go. 1 for fwd and 1 for rev. Make sure you have power there also. remember you need good voltage for it to work. when running try to hit parellel switch to bring voltage up and try shifting if woltage is low on that side.

Do you have the 3126B with electronic shifting and Throttle, If so there is a black round solnoid on top of the tran, change it out with the other ,see if that does it. The parts are available from Alban Cat. Bob
