Sea Ray announced a new Sea Ray Owner's Club at the Ft. Lauderdale boat show. The new owner's club will unroll in January, 2016 and will have lots of new benefits, features and information available for all owners. It will be a separate website you will have to register to join and that will require your HIN# and name. If you are the purchaser of a Sea Ray that you bought in the used market, be sure you have recorded a change of ownership with Sea Ray so you can be part of the family of Sea Ray Owners.

Doing a change of ownership is easy.......go to searay.com, select "owner's resources", then "resources", then select "ownership transfer form". This link might work:

I'm I going to get a free magazine !:smt043! Just kidding!

Our boat must be to old to participate it does not recognize the hull id #

Velooce,

Sea Ray's automated records prior to 1980 are hit and miss, so sometimes the automated verification process doesn't work. Sea Ray would still love to know about you and your boat so we get the correct records in place.

I transferred mine today and Marinemax called asking if I filled out an extended warranty form? How'd that happen?

Too bad former Sea Ray owners can't register :-( I'm still a fan and I love reading Sea Ray Living and will likely be an owner in the future. No love for us, we're out of the club and have to stand on the outside of the fence and watch the cool kids play on the inside.

Thanks Frank, as always!

SeaRayCorporate has explained this before. During the 2008-2010 time frame, there was very limited money to spend on marketing. Sea Ray's marketing budget is driven by the number of boats that are sold; they weren't selling many boat and there was very little money for marketing. Producing and mailing SR Living was very expensive, so there had to be cuts made. The decision was made to concentrate marketing money on the folks who spend money for boats, so us owners of older boats were dropped from the distribution. I didn't like it, I complained about it, but I certainly understand the decision and why it was made.

Now, I think the tide had turned and the company is doing much better. However, times have changed and marketing's plan seems to be concentrating on internet based communications. Look at the new website searay.com, SR living is online, the new Sea Ray Owners Club that comes online in January, SR Launch Pad, etc. SR Living still exists and is available in an online format for all to see. The print version has become a larger glossy paper marketing tool fit for coffee table display that has to be horrendously expensive to print. I am not a fan of thee content since my perception is that it is light on boating and heavy on marketing for advertising partners. I would prefer a magazine with all boating content and no liquor, cigar or car articles.

I like where SR Marketing has taken this because so much more is available to owners......we just have to access it on our computers.

Why, the old club stopped sending the magazine. I guess I have to spend 2-3 mil to get it.

Contact "Sea Ray Corporate" on here. I just asked if I could be added to the mail list for SR living and have been getting them ever sense.

Its something my wife and I enjoy getting and they are well done. Makes a nice display on a coffee table.

Just got the transfer done for our boat. Is this all that needs to be done to be part of the new owners club. We never entered this boat in the old club as we had done with our two previous Sea Ray and never did anything with the old owners club. We are looking forward to the new owners club.

All you need to do is to register on the new site. Since you have already done the change of ownership, joining and verification should be immediate.

As I understand it, the comparing the ownership record with the registration is kind of a friendly gate keeper. If the verification process doesn't work, then Sea Ray will contact you via email and together you can figure out what is needed to get registered.

I tried to pm you but your box is full, please forward a e-mail address.

Fill out the form and be specific, i.e. "Your system doesn't recognize my 1977 model HIN#", and be sure you have the correct number. Also, don't be afraid to give Sea Ray Marketing private information like addresses or email addresses, phone numbers, etc. They only want to get you registered in SROC and they do not share or publish your information; however, when you do get registered in the owner's club, your local dealer is probably going to contact you.

This form goes to Marketing, which is SeaRayCorporates office in Knoxville. The right folks will get the form and help you thru the registration process. Your problem is generally that the pre-1986 boat's records are not computerized and are in paper form in storage. It is far easier for them to manually work around the missing data than to go search for the record on a particular boat in where ever sea Ray stores old records.

I just submitted one for my 87 300 Sundancer.

Well just spent an HR trying to post on the new club. It wouldn't take my HIN . I was right they only care if you spend $$$$$$$$$$$$. I have been disgusted with Sea Ray for a while. Time to find another brand boat.

I suspect your boat is on the Sea Ray history under another owner's name.

Did you register a change of ownership as this thread recommends ?
Did you fill out the form in the link in your quote above ?

You are completely wrong in your statement at Sea Ray only cares about owners who spend $$$$$, whatever that is. If you will recall, Sea Ray came to CSR members several months ago and asked what we wanted to see in a new Sea Ray Owner's Club. I can assure you that owners of older boats were considered and provided input used to develop the new site. Remember, this is a beta test version done to find problems. As late as yesterday, Sea Ray's Marketing folks were working to make the registration process for owners easier and simpler when there is missing data or a disagreement in the records and what you input on the registration form. The new SROC site is for owners and Sea Ray wants all owners to feel welcome and to use the site.

Thanks Frank for the heads up. Worked seamlessly for me.

The site looks like it has a lot of potential.
