I have an 18 ft. searay and I've installed a Lowrance Elite 4 but am not getting proper depth readings, the transducer is in the hull, I'm wondering if any other owners have the same situation and had success. What am I doing wrong.

Is it a "shoot thru hull" or is it actually installed completely through the hull?

The transducer is now on the outside where it belongs..

They usually have some type of calibration to them. Not sure about your model, but my Garmin has a setting to change depth reading at 4 feet deep. I measured actual depth to bottom and adjusted, seems OK now. Also has speed calibration to my phone GPS.
