Is it okay to have a coat of bottom paint on the exposed portion of the transducer?

From everything I have read--NO

Thanks Vince, boat yard painted the bottom before I could swap out the tranducer with the plug. I guess a Scotch Brite pad and some elbow grease will fix it.

I would say NO....But they have painted over mine for 2 yrs now and im still getting the depths....:huh:
