looking for advice on where to install the THRU-HULL transducer... to clarify best location to install a inboard transducer.

Ronald, come on, gots to give us some more info! Deck boat, bow rider, cruiser?

But, in general, about 1 foot on either side of the keel - approximately even with the front of the engine. Anywhere you have a nice flat spot, really.

As Dennis says, a flat spot in front of the engine and not far from the centerline. Also make sure you follow manufacturers instructions as to testing the unit before epoxy. Must be solid fiberglass! Lowrance has great instructions. Maybe you can access online.

there should be a spot designated for the transducer. I know when I put one in my Baja there was a flat "level" spot for it, meaning there was no angle to the place to mount it, it should point straight down, not at an angle
