I have two screw holes in my transom from a previously installed transducer that I would like to repair correctly. These are under the water line, and are covered by bottom paint. Is this something that I can just clear out the caulk and if everything looks good (wood, gelcoat ect.) fill the holes with resin (marine tex?) sand smooth and touch up the bottom paint or is there more to a repair like this?

You are on the right track, although the significant word is 'clean'. To insure that you get a clean area to work with you may want to use a slightly larger drill bit than the existing screw holes and drill. You do not want to drill though, just to the bottom of the existing hole. This will give the epoxy a fresh surface to adhere to.

Thanks guys, I appreciate the info. Just want to make sure I do it right. Any reccomendation on which Marine Tex product to use?
