I have a 1990 SR350 Express Cruiser 454 engs. with Hurth trans. The starboard trans makes a 'clacking' noise when I move in reverse. Any ideas as to what could be causing the prob. thanks

Mine has for the past 1400 hours. If you speed up the engine it will go away on mine. There have been other posts on this and the general concensus it is a low RPM noise and if it goes away at higher RPM it is OK.

If it isn't present above 1000 rpm it's probably ok. A lot of them are noisy but that's normal or so I assume by lots and lots of reading.

Normal if it gos away with more rpm.
Might need a tune up to make engine run smoother at low rpm.
