Trailering the 38DA

Was the boat delivered with the Arch in place? If so, then I assume it is safe to transport it (height wise) the way it is correct?

Yes, it is under max height with the arch in place. The only thing I will need to do before towing would be to remove the anchor light.

I spoke with the salesman we worked with at Marine Max and he assured me the trailer is suitable for road transport. I'm pretty confident in his opinion but I'll call trailer mfg. anyway.

Thanks for the thumbs up on the set up! I'll be sure to post some better photos as we take them!

Yes please do as I'm sure everyone wants to see them. You should also send them to "Trailer Boats Magazine" You will be our new "tow king"

if you havent already, you MUST join and post your rig on this board...

it will BLOW their minds!

i would NOT take a chance - i'd pull the props. yes it's a hassle, but so is towing a 20000# boat around. popping those props with the cprrect puller will take about 6 minutes.

i used this baby on my props that hadnt been taken off in 4 years and it was a SNAP.

Congrats on the new boat. I recall looking at the boat you purchased on MM website...they had 50 or 60 pictures of it...many were actual pictures of the boat, not just the stock photos normally seen on new boats.

TJ,

Beautiful set up.

Paul,

I'm afraid you've been out horsepowered, torqued and cabbed

Jeff,
For protection of the bow from the straps. use scraps of carpet. you can sew loops on to them to run the strap thru. It's the best bet with that size rig. Get good at pulling the props. It's not worth the 1/2 hour to pull them Vs. reworking or replacing them.
I'm jealous ya got me beat 340 behind a Dodge Cummins.
I assume you already have the class A or CDL in place with that rig set up.

WOW

Team Jeff,
you are a crasey amn indeed as I am... I trailer a 2006 320 with Bravo 3's. Of coarse I do not have the issue's with the prop's as you, but don't you also have a height issu also, I don't see a radar on top of that Boat as well. I had My arch put on a Hinge for Hyway traveling. You certainly have the truck for it, but man hauling ot with a Ball hitch, isn't that hard...I have a fifth wheel for mine and the manuever is Great.
As for your issue with NO Bow Eye, Why not use the Anchor mount for your tie down, you don't need to wench it down? With a bow eye, it's only as strong as the Fiberglas behind it, so goes the Anchor mounting braket. I wouldn't tie down using the cleats at all, heres why...it's only help on by 4 stainless steel Machine screws and a small backing plate, I sell these fasteners for a living, its too much pressure on them.
Please get back to me when you can, take more pics I'm interesting in this...for sure.

your boat and trailer

Team Jeff,
You speak of the props hitting the ground....The props shouldn't be hanging lower then the axles themselves.and your really going to have to watch your enterances to the gas stations anyways, I do from the hieght issue. Was your trailer CUSTOM biult for your boat, or is it a standard trailer. Mine was custom biult for the Boat, that's why I'm asking you.
I can't even imagine the weight on that front axle as that Boat is coming up the ramp, I'm sure you have already investigated your ramp angles, as I did. Write to us more, and let us know how goes with Trailering that Rig, Hell i might even want to trailer My 40 when I get it.... what a sight that would be.

you guys are amazing! i get annoyed that i have to open up the canvas when i get to the boat every day.
