Tracvision

our new to us 2001 460 dancer has a tracvisio antenna. Previous owner had dish network on boat. We don't want to set up dish till spring as boat is coming out of water in 6 weeks. Is there away to get regular stations with the tracvision. I tried auto search on the tvs and keeps saying no signal

Disconnect the cable for the dish and connect an HD antenna... My dish was blocked by a larger boat next to me so I disconnected the dish and with the HD antenna, I had over 30 stations free over the air.

Yes, when you get connected to Tracvision, they will tell you what your local sat # is, then they will help you program to it

He doesn't want to contract with dish until next spring... He is trying to get local channels and that is only going to work with an over the air HD antenna...

I am assuming the boat will be out of the water, thats why he doesn't want to hook up till spring. But wanted to know if he could get local on Tracvision.

gotta pay to get anything on your tracvision. OTA antenna only way to get channels otherwise. We lucked out. Family has directTV shop we just give them $7/ month. Still don't get local stations since we are out of their home area. Bummer. Gotta upgrade the tv's with ones with a digital tuner so I can start getting the games!

I have put in new TVs in the salon, master Stateroom, and the bridge. We now pick up all locals and about 25 more. You will be glad you did.

Which system do you have? I upgraded from a C3 to an M1 with a new boat a few years ago and of course it is obsolete now so I am getting pixelation (sp) on certain channels which i am sure is based on the 119 sat. I have sent the dome in to tracvision to have the dish calibrated but no joy!! Good luck looks like in the market for there updated dome, yikes!!!
