Will my 2003 Nissan Xterra SE Super Charged be able to pull my 1990 Sea Ray 220DA out of the water? I bought the boat in the water and am really wondering if the truck can do it. I have a class 3 hitch and have no intentions of any high speed or long distance hauls, just wanna get it out and pressure wash and the like.

Any advise would be great

Cheers

Try it, what's the worst thing that could happen? Your Nissan ends up skidding backwards in the water, won't stop at a stop sign or some other catastrophic failure. Sure, why not!! Just borrow a truck from U-Haul or find a friend with a big truck and offer a six pack AFTER you're done of course. Then relax and breath easy knowing it's well cared for. Better yet, just tell the used car dealer at Ford you are looking for a used Chevy truck and you want to make SURE it can pull the boat from the water to the car wash and back. After you're done, tell them it's so nice you are buying a new one from Chevy of course! I'm sure you can find a new dealer every few weeks that will fall for it??

Dy weight is 4000 lbs on the 220DA. With gear and trailer, you are in danger pulling it around with the Nissan IMO.

You don't mention the type of transmission in the vehicle. I found this link that talks a bit about the vehicle. If you have the manual transmission, then it seems you may damage it just pulling the boat out of the water. You only asked if you could pull it out of the water for cleaning, etc, I assume you are not going to tow it down the highway.

The short answer: NO!

Big boat, little truck, don't match. Trade the truck for a minimum of a 2500 3/4 ton vehicle to safely pull or tow that boat. I am sure there are a few folks that will say they do it with a smaller vehicle. Time and luck is not on their side. :smt101

Good luck, and good nite.
