Towing

I stay in the village at O'Sullivans hotel. It is about 13 mile south of where you are. You are right near the narrows (as they call it) the water is a lot calmer up on the north end. I will be up that way sometime during the week. We usually end up taking a ride to Rogers Rock which is at the northen most part of the lake.

Lots of great coves to hang and anchor in the narrows.

It is a great Lake all you need is weather.

Have a great time

Jack

Alex, any speed over 65 and you are breaking the law. 65 is max speed towing anything in NJ. Many states have seperate speed limits for towed vehicles. As example, GA and CA are still at 55 MPH. So if a wise state trooper were to clock you over 65 in NJ he could give you a ticket. Yes, even if the posted limit was 70. :smt018

:smt017 Thanks Stihl, I have never noticed or heard of this before. NC is 55 also. We always do the speed limit when towing but I would think if I did 55 on the interstate people would start honking. Do people really get tickets for going above 55 in a 70 speed limit? I quess we will be slowing down to 55 now and turing up the radio.

STIHLBOLTS,
Thanks for very useful info. I'll try to keep my eyes and ears open. 65mph in NJ is not bad.

Jack,
We're new to the area, could you give me some tips on some spots for swiming and hanging out, may be some fishing spots and tricks.

Thx,
Alex.

Please start another topic instead of hi-jacking the towing topic. Thanks

When I lived in Tennessee the regular speed limit was 55 and the towed vehicle speed limit was 50. DOT regularly stopped commercial vehicles for over limit violations. I noticed that TN now shows a 70 MPH speed limit. Anyone in Tn can tell me if they still have the two part speed limit signs? :smt017

45 MPH 1 State - Alaska
50 MPH 1 State - Nebraska
55 MPH 11 States - Eastern states, 1 Midwest and CA
60 MPH 2 States - HI and Washington
65 MPH 15 States - Most Northern States
70 MPH 12 States - Many Southern States
75 MPH 9 States - Mostly mid central Western states.

Not to uniform in the speed limits except in the block of states with 75 MPH. All Western states with historically high speed limits.

Sorru for the hi-jacking, Alex I send you a private message

Jack
