Looking for tips on towing a PWC. Specifically, it's a '97 Yamaha WaveVenture. I've heard that you can cause water ingestion through the intake manifolds. Is there any retrofit to cure this?

Mama's not to thrilled with the idea of driving the PWC to the mothership, and I'm not sure she wants to drive the mothership. Kids too small to drive... :smt100

I'm not sure on this model, but I've heard you can take a pair of vise grips and clamp the line shut.

I checked my manual on one of my Yamaha 800 XL and said you should only tow it a short way to the shore. Standard disclaimers, only tow from the front tow point not the rear :smt021, go slow, etc. Sometime manuals are a waste of time. Who would tow one from the rear  With that said I've been towing mine on the lake a couple times a year for 5 miles or so at slow speeds and never had a problem with them. Hope Stilhbolts get a better answer for you.

That canbote has more people carrying capacity than your DA!

Kameroo.....sorry for the highjack. Now back to discussions on PWCs.

Hmm... a "bridge boat"

Ahhh... Frank W. sent me that link. He's a closet canboater...

Thanks... It is an older 2-stroke design, so I think I'll skip the vise grips and find a shut-off-valve as a more permanent solution.

Attach the key to the shutoff....that way you won't forget to re-open.....

Just checked out the link, which shut off value are you talking about  :smt043  Looks like somebody put a picture of vise grips right after the posting of the shut off value.
