towing a 17 foot skiff with a 44 foot boat

Does anyone have any experience with towing a smaller boat with a bigger boat? I am interested in the following things...

Tow-rope set up
impact on cruising speed
impact on fuel consumption
cleats being big enough on the big boat
what happens when the seas kick up

Last year I towed our 21' ski boat behind our 2455 Bayliner we had sold both of them and upgraded to a 270 Searay and a 25' hawaiian daycruiser for sking and rough houseing.
I just towed it back about 20'-25' while under way and closer while in the marina's.
Fuel economy forget it.
Will be towing this year as well some people think i'm nuts
no I aint just smart I tossed the Admiral around in the cabin last spring while pulling the boy with our cruiser.:smt100
