I absolutely love this time of year. Weather is still great, water temps are good, and we have the lake almost to ourselves. I really hope we have a warm fall season. I'm not ready to let go of summer yet.

I bet that place is a zoo mid summer on a Saturday afternoon!

It is a zoo on most weekends before Labor Day. After that it is almost deserted. We have done September
trips there the last 3 years.

Never been there we couldn't get the boat through at Elk Rapids but we love that area.

I have spent many summer days on that sandbar when we had our trailerable boats, my sister has a house near the lake. As the kids began to get older we shied away from the wild parties and pole dancing that went on the weekends. Sure miss the beautiful turquoise water though!

This was the first time I've had my kids there all summer and I live two miles away. It has turned into a summer party destination, not that there is anything wrong with that just gotta be careful where you park if you bring the kids. However the scenery can be quite good.
