Topcoat

Interesting, as I'm always looking for something a little better..

Seems to be something like chemical guys jetseal product

It got my curiosity up. I just sent them a note to see if they will sell small samples to give it a try before spending $200 on a gallon... Will update the post if I get a reply back. If it works as advertised it sounds a lot easier than waxing....

I always wonder about magical coatings so durable they protect from UV and water-borne contaminants yet so clear you can't tell they've been applied.

i watched the entire video that was about 45 mins long.....claims are impressive....then I watched a short video where they applied Topcoat to a boat that had an oxidized blue hull......the Topcoat appeared to erase the oxidation and restored a mirror reflection to the blue gelcoat in just seconds....here is the link to the video

I couldn't stand it so I ordered the web special kit that comes with a 16 oz. spray bottle of Topcoat and a small travel size spray bottle and two microfiber cloths for $59......

like most of us I am very skeptical about things like this but if it happens to work it will be worth 5X what I paid for it...besides $60 bucks will barely cover our bar bill alone when the Admiral and I go out to dinner (and that is not a lot of drinks at today's prices) so it is not a huge investment....

maybe it will keep spider poop from etching into the gelcoat....or make cleaning windows and seats easier....

thanks for the link and let's hope there is something to this 'miracle in a bottle'.....i'll report back after I use it with some pics....

Don't know that product but if it is like Rejex then you need to strip all old stuff off the surface so it adheres properly. You can add additional wax on top of Rejex for looks (light reflection) if you like but you can't apply Rejex over wax.

I may just order a bottle as well to try out. Even if only for the car to help wipe the bugs off!

Subscribing to this thread to watch the outcomes of the trials. Thanks.

My thoughts also. Wasn't there something called Vertaglass also?

I also think it could be similar to the product Bona that is used for floors.

This looks like something I bought at the boat show. Did great things at the show, wasn't overwhelmed when I used on my boat.

I have a bottle coming to try it out....if it does work but doesn't last but a few months it will be worth it to me....I won't mind applying this several times a year since it goes on and off so easy....small price to pay to keep a mirror finish on the gelcoat with so little effort.....

here are some of the other places I want to try it.....

we have a lot of problems with spider poop in our area during the warm months....now I use Spray Nine to clean off the poop and it does a good job....but it strips off the wax from the gelcoat....maybe this product will make cleaning off the spider poop easier with out stripping the wax.....

I find myself constantly cleaning the swim platform....we have a step down from our dock onto the swim platform as a means to board our boat...even though we keep rugs on the swim platform when docked the platform still gets dirty quickly.....maybe this will make that job easier also....

also I just had my cockpit seats re-dyed and they turned out great.....it would be nice if I can use this product to protect the seats and make cleaning them easier.....

I am curious to see what this product will do on the camper canvas and windows as well.....

I would be very careful spraying this on isenglass! Try a tiny corner somewhere on a side curtain first.

yep....good advise....I actually have some old camper windows at home....I'll try it on them first....

thanks....

I found an insect repellant called fastcap. It works AMAZING for spiders. I spray the boat, the lines, and the dock about once a month and our boat has significantly less poop then my neighbors. This stuff is 50 bucks for a bottle but it makes a ton as it is a concentrate.
