top speed

just bought a 86 sevile 5.6m with a 140merc alpha drive just trying to find out what the top speed should be with the weight of gear and 3 adults.when i took it out it topped at 30mph with just me,just dont seem right i have a 17ft with a 115 that hits 35mph maybe its me

I'm familiar with that set up, I test drove a new one in 1987 or 1988 and I think it topped out at 35. That was a new boat and engine with a clean hull so you're probably doing OK.
