Took first trip to Keys by boat.

How did you guys like postcard inn? what location did you snorkel at? can't wait to head back that way!

Postcard Inn was really nice. The food was good, great tiki bar, nice pool and beach area, really nice fire pits by marina. was usually protected inside marina, altho last night was very windy and i was banging on the pilings throughout night as my slip was pretty tight with only about a foot or so leeway between pilings and boat on each side. but it was my fault for not tying up better as it was calm before that last night. we snorkeled about 3 or so miles straight out from Key Largo canal at a couple dive sites. we followed some commercial dive boats out there and tied up to some mooring balls. crystal clear water, 83 degrees, lots of fish. the dock master at Marina Del Mar gave us a map. he said the sites are 6 to 10 miles offshore, but didn't seem like they were much more than about 3 miles off. http://

Good stuff!

Going back down next month and just gonna dock at Miami Beach Marina for 4 days or so. The generator starting acting up so gonna stay plugged in and while i'm there, gonna try blasting out cooling lines in between beach time and eating time. i think i may have a clog. Love having our boat in Miami Beach these days.

Richie,

Have you stayed at Sunset? Little further north if your primary destination is South Beach, but a short uber ride. Nice marina. The Miami beach marina is a great location - we stayed there some to get a jump on going to the Keys. But not wild about the facilities. For us was just an overnight stop.

Sunset has better pool, health club, etc. Also if your coming in from out of town, there is a Publix across the street for provisioning. They let you bring the shopping cart back to the marina, then the dock staff gathers up the carts in the morning and takes them back to the store.

football fan, haven't, but plan to stay at Sunset. in june, planning to run across to bimini for a few days, and they stay at sunset for rest of trip. and Humph, yep, gotta love a great pic :)

our June trip will be either the first or second week in june. at most, we will run over to Bimini as we will only have one week.

ididntdoit, we're going back next week and i'm going to work on the generator. i'm pretty sure the cooling line has a clog, or impeller needs changing. if i can get it sorted and working correctly, we would like to run over to Bimini around June 6 for a couple of days. will you still be there?

That's funny, when I head down 6/1 I need to get some work done on the genny too.....I was going to leave the boat at bimini sands and fly back 6/5....not so sure now b/c I cant get a straight answer from anyone at the sands on my long term rate.....

Ididntdoit, Go over to The hull truth (Florida/Geo Section) and try BiminiBrad. He is setting up the "New"? HOA for the lack of knowledge on what to call it
on Bimini Sands. I almost guarantee he will be able to help. Fair winds, JC
