Too hot to go boating?

We placed a thermometer on the floor of our cockpit the other day and it read 102 degrees. We moved it to the helm under the hardtop with no A/C running and it read 80 degrees. With the cockpit air on and a drop curtain up, it registers 70. Having a hardtop instead of canvas is a real plus.

Our Bimini trip was canceled due to wind and rough seas so we decided to spend the weekend in Miami! HOT...HOT! Sitting on the strip in South Beach sipping a Mimosa. Boat is in Miami Beach Marina. Did I mention how hot it is in Miami in July!!

Don't forget to drink plenty of fluids and watch out for humidity. When humidity is high your body sweat will not evaporate as quickly. That prevents the body from releasing heat quickly.

Over a month of 100+ does get old after a while, but I complained about our frigid winter, so for now I will just say it is hot and continue to work outdoors. The parking lot temperature is 124 - 128 in the afternoons.

Last Sunday 103 air temp and 93 water temp and we still went out. Cruised near the dam to find deeper cooler water. Had to cruise with the front window open. My helm A/C is all natural!
