Well guys, we have decided to sell the 200. I just had the recent unfortune of having surgery on a staff infection, and a week in the hospital. Add that to the slow ecomomy, and the decision isn't that difficult. Even though I have insurance, the med bills are starting to come in and its time to get rid of some credit card debt still lingering from my college days. I know this is the worse time to sell a boat, but that is usually how it works. What makes it hard is the boat is actually paid for and I got it for a great deal.

Our plans for the future though still stand, I still want to upgrade to a 260DA one day. I was hoping for a trade in, but shxx happens. The time frame for the 260 depends on the sale of our home next year. Even though I have a ton of equity, the banks have changed so many things that they won't let me use any of it. We won't give the home away so if it doesn't sell, then I am ok with that, I just wait longer till my dream of owning a Cruiser comes true. But for now, the sell of the 200 is what we need to do.

Still will be active as we have made a ton of friends. We will just ask to ride along instead of raft up. lol

Anyways, I will not go anywhere as we have met too many friends and one day I will be back with a larger Sea Ray that we can actually trailer around the SE and stay overnight on the water. Will just need AC for the wife....LOL

Brian,
Sorry to hear, but I know where you are coming from. It has been an interesting(Grin) couple of years. Sure how this change (For the better) thing happens soon.....

sorry to hear but i hope you had surgery on a staph infection instead.

Just call the hospital and tell them you need to work out a payment plan. They HAVE to work with you. Tell them that you can afford $40-$50 a month and you'll send more if you have it. Maybe in a few months, your luck will change. Otherwise, your only on the hook for 13 gallons of gas per month.

Hang in there Brian. We're going through some lifestyle considerations right now as well. I'd go insane without a boat, but things are showing some promise. Hopefully your surgery went well.

You are going to sell both the boat and the house? Wow........sorry to hear about that Brian but you have to do whatever is right. I can't imagine your construction business is back to normal yet either is it? Just don't sell the SS.:smt009

Take care.

Dave

Brian,

Do what you think is best for you and your family....you have your priorities straight. The staff infection is serious and we wish you well in a pray for a speedy recovery for you.

If you sell the boat...you get to keep the memories and you know you will get another one.

An outlet that gets results is Craigslist...and it's free. There is someone out there looking for your boat...you just have to connect.

Dave, we don't have to sell the house, but if there is profit to be had, then it will be well worth it. By the way, we will live in the SS before we sell it.

Tell them that your an illegal immagrant, thus you won't have to pay any medical bills. If that doesn't work, then tell them that you're a liberial and demand free health care.

Had someone comming up yesterday to look, but they must have found another boat.

Other than Craigs list, which sites do you guys recommend to put the boat on?

Brian,

Hope you are doing well, the boat is secondary right now. Staff infection is nasty and shouldn't be taken lightly. I had it in my right leg after having a cut stitched up on my knee. After 19 days in ICU and another couple weeks in the hospitol, they finally got it out by removing one of those big thigh muscles........amputation was considered at one point.

The boat is sold. A sad day indeed, but a good day when it comes to finances.

We sold it to a couple from NC that will use the boat on lake Hartwell. This is their first Sea Ray so I have invited then to come aboard and join the crew. I hope to see them next year at a few raft ups.
