Need to take a break from work get the boat out of the slip. Thinking south to Palm Beach and Hutchinson Island Marriott for a day or two then down to Sailfish Marina for a couple of days. Or, I may just pull the pin and go over to the Abacos for the week.... Regardless, I've never been to the Marriott or Sailfish; any insight here?

Thanks, Tom

No insight on your locations..just a comment:

When we came down the coast in the 650 in July, we stopped the last night in St. Augustine. I fell in love with the old part of town and walked till my feet hurt and Rusty got fussy.......I really hated to leave the next morning. The city pier is first rate and right under the bridge less than a mile from the Atlantic and there must have been 50 restaurants in a 4 block area.

Marriot has good facilities and a good breakfast. Hardly no current and easy docking. Not a lot of scenery as it's a ways from the inlet, not much to do off the boat right close by. Not sure if you're talking Sailfish in Stuart or PB, but assuming you mean PB, it's a nice marina with a great restaurant on site that usually has live music on the weekends. It's also directly across from peanut island so great place to boat/people watch. Only real downfall is it's the closest marina to the lake worth inlet and the tide currents are crazy there so just be aware of that when approaching to dock. Have a great time either way! I'm sure we'll be out by sailfish this weekend at some point.

Thanks Frank - There are two good marinas in St Augustine but the city marina is right there in the heart of the old district. Did you walk up the road to the old fort? A worth while visit.

Shaun - Thanks for the input on those areas.

Well, We ended up going back to the Bahamas and Abacos. This is the latest in the year I've ever been and interestingly just about everything from West End through Green Turtle to Guana and Treasure were closed for the season or barely open for fishing. Weather was perfect and seas were glass.
