I just completed my first manifold riser job ,It went pretty well,my only concern is I never used a torque wrench before .Some of the bolts where over tightened, After learning how the bolts are now at factory specs . Does anyone see a possible problem ? I haven't started it up yet.

How much did you over tighten them?

If they obviously didn’t break, worst I could imagine is that the gaskets may have been compressed too much and possible could leak. Even this seems unlikely.

When you tighten bolts, they stretch. Over tighten them and they stretch even more.

Over stretched bolts are weaker and more prone to failure, hence why a torque value is assigned.

Be glad you didn't break the cast manifold or risers.

Not to jab anyone in the side...... torque wrenches are pretty straight forward.

What was unclear it its use? It could help another DIY'er.

If you know you overtightened the bolts then they are trenches and should be replaced and torqued properly.

the wrench didn't make a noise when it got to it.s #. You knew it was at it.s lbs when the head of the wrench cocked to the left.

When you use a torque wrench you’re supposed to start off say at 10 pounds do all of them and 20 pounds then whatever the reading is for the last final round evenly snuck them up if you just go straight in and start putting 30 pounds of torque on each bolt right out of the box that’s a no no
