Just picked up a dinghy and I'm looking for the covers that fit tight and clip into the rubrail all the way around. I’ve seen them around the marina but haven’t been able to talk to the owners of them.

Anyone know where I can get one?

What ever you find that is tight when new, probably will not be a year or so later. The elastic just doesn't stand up to the elements.

After fighting keeping a cover on while cruising for years, finally came up with a solution that is easy, fast, and works.

I put 1/8 inch lines on the tabs on the outer side of the cover. The lines have a loop permanently tied on the end not attached to the cover, the loop being 8 inches short of reaching under the dinghy to the cover tabs on the inboard side.

When putting the cover on, I keep the lines up on top of the cover until I am happy with the placement of the cover. Then I throw the lines over the outer side of the dinghy.

Using a boat hook, I reach under the dingy, snag the lines, and attach with 12 inch bungee cords. I do 4 lines, two in the center area, one bow and one stern.

I have a Walkerbay, the cover has no elastic and is very tight. Actually have trailered with it on. It attaches by wide plastic hooks that pull down over the rub rail on the dinghy. The cover stays on it all the time unless it’s in use.
Sorry , the cover came from Walkerbay and it’s model specific. Try the manufacturer of your dinghy.
