Anybody know why my throttle will only engage in forward , and not in reverse ? Is there some type of throttle cable adjustment I can check ?

To clarify....Throttle won't engage in reverse or it won't go into reverse gear?
Does shifter move toward reverse, or won't move toward reverse out of neutral?

And... Is this while the engine is running, or not running? Have you ever shifted when the engine isn't running?

I had that problem once, disconnected the cable and it moved freely. Turned out that the internal nylon gear in the command center was broken. Took the opportunity to grease the inner workings of the command center while I was in there for the replacement gear. Granted this was an outboard, but I started at the engine, disconnected cable at outboard and checked shift capability at the motor. Then disconnected at the command center and checked for free movement of the cable. After that showed good, I checked the nylon gear in the command center (Thanks to google to get me to look) and it was supposed to have a sharp point, but mine was chipped and rounded over. Allowed for forward, but wouldn't engage reverse. Since the cables were disconnected, trying the command center operation without the engine running was not an issue.

To clarify , the shifter won’t move out of neutral toward reverse...this is while engine is running of course.

Disconnect your lower shift cable at the engine, then see what moves and what doesn't. If it won't shift by manually shifting the lower cable your issue is in the shift linkage or clutch cone area in the upper drive

No, I will try that tomorrow. What would that tell me if it shifts when the engine isn’t running ?

I wasn't suggesting you do it. As mentioned above, this is a no-no (shifting with the engine off) for all Bravo drives as it can cause damage (although not always the "first" time it's done) to the shifting mechanism in the drive. IF you have done that in the past, that COULD explain your issue. Just helps to have more info, that's all. Do as mentioned above and remove the lower shift cable - see if that makes a difference (at this point, doesn't matter if engine is running or not).
