Thoughts on these 3 SunDeck choices, 240 vs 270

Still been looking at various boats. Like the layout of the Rinker 282 Captiva bowrider but there are not a lot around. Formula 256 is nice but appears dated to me (2004-2006 models).

Thinking my mental budget will dictate what I get. Something tells me it'll be a 240 SunDeck with 350MAG. Really don't want to spend more than 25K and since a 270 w/496 is at least low to mid 30's the 240 seems to be the boat for me.

Probably looking at an 08 tomorrow but they are asking 32,900. I don't see spending that much more for an 08 when the 04-06 can be had for 25K and even less.

Final update, hopefully at least. Down to 2 boats. 240 with 160 hours but it definitely needs some TLC, kept in salt water. I think this can be bought for 18-20K. Although, I am heading to FL for 2 weeks to look at a 270 with 360 hours, 496 engine. Boat is very well cared for, kept inside, bottom never painted, etc. 30K for this 270.

If you can stretch for the 270 I don't think you'll regret it. It's a big boat that still handles well and is comfortable for a group. Good luck.

270 sounds good man. Where in FL? I'll be there next Wednesday-Sunday in the Orlando area.

Just arrived in Anna Maria Island for a 2 week vacation. Heading out tomorrow am to check out the 270. If all goes well we will finalize the transaction Monday and by Wednesday I should be the proud owner of a 2004 270 with 496. Ideally, buy it, use it here while on vacation and have it shipped home late next week with the goal of using it Labor Day Weekend on the Chesapeake.

Enjoy AMI, our favorite vacation spot, and good luck with the 270.

Checked out the 270 today. Nice boat, well cared for, spotless engine and bilge, etc. Moving ahead with the purchase tomorrow.

Sweet man!
