Thoughts go out to the folks affected by the flooding in western Europe

We have been on a few river cruises through Germany and were supposed to be on one last week by opted to post pone. I remember floating by hundreds of wonderful camp grounds packed with caravans along the various rivers. Now to see the pictures of the devastation and see those caravans smashed into heaps at bridges is sickening. I've been reading about how a country that has such a reputation for order and preparation was caught flat footed on this event. I don't think anyone could really anticipate what they got. The rain fall was historic.
